The function of the Steering Committee is mainly to support the International German Piano Award in its artistic activities. It is carried by the high standards and expectations towards the appreciation of all parties involved in the International German Piano Award and for the promotion of its continuous establishment in the German and international world of classical music.

Members of the Steering Committee are Presidents of German Universities of Music as well as further selected personalities that put a strong emphasis on supporting the International German Piano Award.
